My Super Shred Diet Update

My Super Shred Diet Update

Last week I posted about a new diet I was going to try. On Monday I began the Super Shred Diet. I really thought that this diet would give me the boost I needed to break through the weight loss plateau I was on. It might have if I could have stuck with it.

Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That

You’ve seen the video online where the woman says “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That”. If you haven’t you should google it. That’s how I felt after two days of this diet. My job keeps me very busy. Like so busy I barely have time to go to the bathroom sometimes. This diet requires that you eat about every 1 1/2 hours. I just couldn’t keep up with all of that.

I admit I wasn’t hungry on this diet like I have been on other diets but it was because I was eating constantly. Seriously I felt like by the time I finished one snack or meal it was time for the next one.

I did lose 3 pounds this week, but I think if I had just stuck with my normal way of eating I probably would have lost the same amount.

I have decided I’m going back to Weight Watchers. For me Weight Watchers has become a way of life not just a fad diet. Like I explained to my co-worker the other day, with Weight Watchers I have learned that if I want to eat a sausage biscuit for breakfast (which is half of my points allotment for the day) then I have to make healthier choices the rest of the day.

With the Super Shred Diet it tells you what to eat and when. I don’t like that. I like to have control over what I eat. With that diet you often ate soup for lunch. What if I’m not in the mood for soup? Do I have to eat it and think the whole time about what I wish I was eating instead? For me I’d rather stick with a plan that allows me to make my own choices about what I eat by teaching me how to balance those healthy choices with the occasional indulgences.

So back to Weight Watchers I go. This is the last week of my Skinny Mom DietBet. Right now I’ve lost enough to meet my 4% goal for this DietBet. Looking forward to getting my share of the pot from the DietBet!

Ugh! I’m with you – I can’t stick to a super strict plan! I need flexibility based on time, groceries, and life. With the tools you have from Weight Watchers you should have no problem keeping up your weight loss without going crazy. Maybe you should just use your WW tools and make it more fun – try a new cookbook (have I mentioned how obsessed I am with WW cookbooks!?). Maybe you could plan out your days yourself and just try some new healthy recipes – maybe even a sausage biscuit substitute… It sounds like whatever you’re doing now is working! Ready for the cliche? It’s a lifestyle change and if you’re consistently losing almost 3lbs a week, you’re doing it right!

Congrats on your dietbet! I just won my three DietBets! Trying to decided if I can quickly fit in another before our Feb. 13th snowmobile weekend – we’ll for sure plan one for the week after that, though! Fun!

One thing I have learned by doing Weight Watchers is how to make substitutions to make a recipe healthier. If my husband knew it was “healthy” he wouldn’t eat it! So I quickly learned how to get him to eat what I was eating. With WW I don’t feel like I’m eating “diet food” but like you said its a lifestyle change. Like learning to choose an egg white omelet on an English muffin instead of that sausage biscuit (although I do have one occasionally). Congrats on winning your dietbets. We should plan on doing one together soon!

  2. Almost 50 on a mission says

I just want to chime in on Super Shred. I have 20 lbs to loose so I do not expect to loose 20 lbs in a month. I just completed week one and have lost 6.5 lbs!!!! I have found this so easy to follow. Yes you eat frequently but the snacks literally can take you 2 min to eat so I def have time to fit it in my busy day. I am rarely hungry and honestly so excited about this plan. The only thing I have not done is the exercise which I will def start today.
I believe this diet is very easy to follow. I have never tried weight watchers so I cannot compare.

I know! No one is more shocked than myself esp since I did not even follow his guidelines for dieting. I am 5’5″ and starting weight was 144.6 .
I am also a veteran dieter.
