Did you catch this week’s episode of The Biggest Loser? The contestants were faced with a grocery store challenge. They were given $10 a day, per person on their team and they had to shop for food for their team for 7 days. They were all so worried that they would not be able to buy healthy items with the amount of money that they had and in the end they were all shocked when they came in under their budgets and still had some great foods to eat throughout the week.
Of course it is easier to go for the pasta, rice, and those ready made freezer meals, but in the end we have to remember that while the food may be less expensive it may not always be the best choice. I try to stick to the outer aisles when I grocery shop. That’s where you will find the healthiest food options. Of course I do still get some things throughout the store but I try to avoid the aisles that have cereal, chips, and cookies, as though seem to be my weakness!
